Unveiling the Power of Nature-based Solutions for Equitable, Green, and Healthy European Cities

This session focuses on advancing the role of nature-based solutions (NbS) as a transformative approach for urban resilience. Until now NbS (and other adaptation solutions) have been top-down and used a technocratic approach for implementation. However, NbS has the potential to be grounded locally, and should be implemented and evaluated through bottom-up approaches that pay attention to social aspects such as justice and maladaptative issues.
