Collective Understandings of Adaptation
In April, via IMAGINE adaptation’s twitter account we asked participants how they imagine urban adaptation. The result was this fantastic word cloud full of wishes and visions of what a city adapting to climate change looks like. A total of 62 responses were collected.
Responses either related to process and solutions, with justice, equity and sustainability at the centre, as well as blue and green visions. However, people and biodiversity are clearly part of the process from the bottom up. Additionally, transformational and the challenging nature to adaptation was highlighted.
Following on from the twitter survey we combined the visions of urban adaptation with understandings academic and grey literature to further develop what a city adapting to climate change could look like. A total of 31 concepts were identified.
